Photos have fascinated me since I was a young child - the fact that an apparatus we call a camera can forever immortalize us in a single moment in time. Those moments become reference points in our lives for what was and still is possible.
My name is Carrie and I am a photographer specializing in pets and their people. For many, our pets bring out the best in us and nowhere does that light shine more than in the quality time we spend with them. Their lives in comparison with our own are all too short and each fur baby we spend our days with provide us with joy, unconditional love and life lessons that will linger with us long after they depart. What better way to celebrate our companions on this journey than through the medium of photography?
I have a bachelor's degree in English from Christopher Newport University and am a recent graduate of Animal Behavior College where I was certified as a professional dog trainer. I am also a member of the Professional Photographers of America and an avid pet lover and have been around dogs since the age of four. I began my journey into pet photography in 2008 while working at a doggie daycare; since that time my passion for photographing animals, especially dogs has only continued to grow and blossom.
In addition to photographing pets and their people, I also love getting out and exploring nature and capturing our natural surroundings in pictures. We get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily living that we forget to just observe life without doing. We need to learn to just be. To connect with our environment, focus on what is there without the compulsion to DO something. Just observe. See what we have been missing. Be at peace.
